C26. Ideally , VP doesn't change when son takes over joint.

My way of cracking it is:

  • VP = Verb Phrase
  • Phrase in mention = “when son takes over joint”
  • Verb Phrase = takes over
  • So when the VP doesn’t change but the other words are changed, we get:-
  • When = is
  • Son = lad
  • Joint = bar
  • Takes over = anagram indicator
  • So islad = salad
  • Answer = Salad Bar

Your interpretation is close but not tight enough.
"ideally" is left out of your explanation.
Also "takes over" is a replacement indicator rather than an anagram indicator.
